welcome

The Cinderella Project is a community service initiative by the ladies of the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Sigma Sorority, Inc. Our goal is to provide a whole prom experience for local high school women in need. We are dedicated to promoting the confidence and individual beauty of all young women, and we strive to ensure that each young woman will have the opportunity to attend her school prom with pride. The Cinderella Project is not a handout; rather, it is a celebration of the success and achievement of area high school girls. Check out the events page to find out more about upcoming and past events.

To help us provide a complete prom experience to those students who may not otherwise be able to participate in prom, we will be holding a Cinderella Project Fundraiser. During this fundraiser, we will sell new and gently used prom dresses for just $10! Shoes and accessories will also be available for purchase.

BIG thanks!

We'd like to thank the Tuscaloosa YMCA on Bryant Drive for allowing us to use their facility for this amazing event! Also we'd like to thank Becky Freeman from the University of Alabama Theater Department for her help altering dresses, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa for the donation of over fifty dresses, and Temporary Emergency Services for logistical help. We couldn't have done it without the help of these amazing people and organizations.

alpha delta sigma

Alpha Delta Sigma Sorority, Inc. was founded on April 3, 2003 to promote diversity, academic achievement, strong bonds of sisterhood, and the cultivation of powerful women among our members and in our community, both local and global. We are all very different in each aspect of our backgrounds, from our religion to our race and even our socioeconomic status.

Since being founded in 2003, we have continued to grow, expanding our horizons to new ideas, new people, and new experiences. We were the first sorority ever to be founded with an emphasis on diversity, and the first sorority ever founded at the University of Alabama. We are proud of our unique legacy and plan to become a well-known part of the University of Alabama's history.
